How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has significantly changed ever since I received the cash transfers. I have been able to pay up my children's school fees in time. More so, I reclaimed my land title from court and hired three plots of farmland so as to increase my food production. Earlier on, I had limited access to my farmlands and I was always scared of the immediate outbreak of famine. In addition to this, I had defaulted on my children's school fees. However, I am very grateful to GiveDirectly for the cash transfers that have made a positive impact in my life.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does well to send us cash transfers without any connections. I like the fact these cash transfers are not connected to any government party or religion. I am also happy that GiveDirectly allowed us to spend the cash transfers freely on development ventures without restrictions.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I hired a plot of land worth UGX 300000. I bought a cow worth UGX 560000. I paid third term school fees worth UGX 350000. I bought a metalic door worth 170000. I paid a loan worth UGX 250000.
