My new or additional goals for my life for the next four months is to open a saving account with equity bank. I thought of opening a savings account because my firstborn is soon finishing primary education and that translates, I must have money to take him to Secondary School. I do not a have any additional reliable source of income apart from what I receive from Give Directly. Therefore I must start saving the little I get so that when time comes for his admission to Secondary school I would have saved enough.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer I that I updated my NHIF monthly contribution. I want to thank Give Directly for enabling me to access quality and convenient health care through NHIF services. I thought of insuring my family the moment I started receiving money from the Organisation. It has been helping me a lot more so my two children since they are prone to diseases.

I expect to have opened a training saloon premise. next six months. I believe I have the skills to do so and I can teach someone well to have the skills too. In addition, having a training premise will enable me to have an additional source of income. Having an additional source of income will enable me to buy more saloon equipment that will attract more customers hence leading to increase in daily income. I would be in a position to support my family financially with no difficulty.

My life is different from how it would have been four months ago in that I was able to boost my hairdressing business which was almost collapsing. I was afraid I would lose my main source of income. I had run out of stock and the business was not doing well. I had thought of taking a loan to revive the business but before I could do that, I started receiving my transfers. I used the transfers to buy more stock so that I could continue with the business. Thanks to GD I still have my business.

In the next four months, I plan to buy building materials such as iron sheets, timber and nails which I will use in building a new house. I am living in a leaking grass thatched house and I feel I should have a better house which can accommodate my family well.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these transfers in that I have a medical card. I do get quality treatment because of my National Hospital Insurance card which I do service on a monthly basis with part of my transfers. In the past, I would not get quality treatment because I did not have the resources to pay for the card. With GD transfers, I was able to acquire NHIF card which has been very important in my life. I don't strain to treat anyone in my family as before.

In the next six months, my life will change in that my business will have picked up well and I would not struggle as I used to. Through the business, I will have resources to meet all my needs in time. I know I will be financially stable because of GD transfers.

The other difference in my life is that my children are never sent home for school fees and they have all the school requirements in time. My income from hairdressing business was not much to cater for all my needs. My children would be sent home regularly because I was not able to keep up paying their fees arrears in time. I have been using part of my monthly transfers to pay their fees which is a great step in my life. In as much as I have not cleared their balance, they are not sent home for school fees anymore.

In the next four months, I wish to buy building materials such as iron sheets, timber, and nails which I want to use in building a new house. The one I have now is too old and could collapse anytime. It was built three years ago and due to strong winds and rains in my area during the rainy seasons, the walls have been weakened. I would want to build another one before this one collapse.

The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving these transfers is that I can now get quality healthcare for me and my family. Before the transfers, I could not get to good hospitals because I did not have the money to pay in good hospitals. In most cases, I would have to give my children herbs because my income from hairdressing business would not allow us to go to good hospitals. When I started receiving these transfers, I went and acquired an NHIF card which allows me to go to good hospitals to get quality treatment. Thanks to GD.

In the next six months, I would want to start my own hairdressing business. I have been working in a friend's salon but I feel its time I have my own. I know with the step the transfers have taken me, I will be able to establish my own to improve my financial status.

I recently used my transfers to buy a solar lighting system and we no longer have to use a smoky lantern for lighting. This is quite exciting for my children who can now do their homework with ease.

I would like to register for the National Hospital Insurance Fund, which is the most affordable medical insurance cover in the country. I have always wanted to register, but it was impossible due to little income. With the help of these monthly transfers, I can now be able to make the payment so that whenever my children and I fall sick,I will have an easy time paying the bills.

Hairdressing job is quite an unpredictable job and not all days are good. Before, failing to get a customer would mean failure to get food for that particular day and even other requirements, but with these transfers, I am always assured of something to eat even when I don't have a job.

I expect to have rented my own salon near my current area of residence so that I can establish a strong customer base and maximize my income from the hairdressing job that I usually do. I will also use the premises as a cosmetic shop and I am sure that I will be making enough money to comfortably take care of my family needs.

Those last four months have been relatively easy because I could easily provide for my family with the aid of the transfers that I have been receiving from GD.

I hope that in the next six months,I will be stable enough so that I can move out of my parents' house and rent my own place.
