What did you spend your third transfer on?
When I received my third transfer, I completed the construction of my main house I had started with the second transfer, it was worth 28000 KES of the third transfer. And cleared the whole year school fees for my 4 children. It is hard educating 4 children at ago and therefore receiving this money was a great relief to us.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
As a widow, I couldn't manage to build a better house since I never had means and again I lacked support and therefore receiving this money was a break through in my life. I have moved from a tiny, 1-room house to a 3 room house where we currently live more comfortably. The former one denied us privacy and comfort. Finally, I am glad that I have managed to rest at least 2 years without struggling to search for school fees to educate my children, what a great relief! It is how my life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion what Give Directly does well is sending us this money directly and intact. But it would be prudent it walks around and observe how each and every individual progressed with the money.
