How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now because the money facilitated agricultural activities and I harvested 4 bags of ground nuts, I still have crops in the garden which I am optimistic of getting good harvest. I am able to buy any thing that I want because I have the money. I saved money that I am going to use for constructing an iron roofed house for my self. Previouly, I used to do farm work a lone which was tiresome because all my time was spent in the farm.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did well to give me money that is going to enable me construct an iron roofed house which I would have not managed to do on my own. There is nothing they have done bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent UGX 100,000 for buying clothes and food. I have not yet spent UGX 1,532, 000, I intend to used it for constructing an iron roofed house.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means timely payment of tuition for my children which will make them to become better citizens in future with responsibility. I struggle to carry out farming, but it is not reliable enough to cater for them. In case of any balance, I will construct a permenent house for my household because currently, I sleep in a grass thatched house which is expensive to renovate.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening after taking stock count of my sales. I rejoice because I have got the money that I can spend on but another stock of millet for brewing or pay tuition for my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Lack of enough land for crop cultivation is my biggest challenge. My father gave me my share of an acre of land but it is not enough. I produced five children at home and they need to study and settle down when they are grown up. However, the land I own currently is not enough for all of them.
