Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I plan to use my transfers on savings. My goal is to save so that in the future, after the transfers, I may not go back to begging and having so many debts as I had before the transfers. I would want to be independent.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I did not have any kind of livestock in my life before the transfers. I used to admire what my neighbours had because I knew I could not get my own. At my age and with the kind of income I had from casual work, I had given up. When I started receiving my transfers, my dream was revived and I am glad I was able to save part of my monthly transfers which I used in buying a cow. Right now, the cow had reproduced and I have three.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months, I still plan to buy a cow. This is the best investment which I can have comfortably because taking care of it does not require so much to keep. When it reproduces, I will have a number which will also be my sources of income as well as savings for the transfers.

Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to buy a cow for rearing. In order to achieve this goal, I want to continue saving my monthly transfers in our merry go round group. I believe I will reach my goal with the help of this group. I am already enjoying the benefits of the cow I am having right now and I can't imagine the double profits I will get once I buy another one.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am now a proud owner of two sheep. I am planning to keep them and later start doing business once they have multiplied and increased in number. I managed to buy them because I joined a savings group. This helped to be disciplined and stick to my saving plan. The transfers have also helped me maintain a good credit score with my local shopkeeper. Nowadays I can always take stuff on credit with less difficulty shopkeeper. I usually make sure I keep my word and pay once I receive the transfers. This means I can always access the basic needs and items whenever I want. Thanks to GiveDirectly for coming to this village and choosing me as one of their beneficiaries.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to build a bigger house for my family. We currently stay in quite a small house which was built when our family was still small. My parents used the little resources they could afford to build the tiny house we lived in. Right now, there is a need to build a bigger one that will accommodate us all. I have had this dream for a while but since money is scarce and with the pressing needs, I have had to postpone it. I am glad I finally had the chance to fulfill my dream.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago because I have been able to buy three sheep to rear. The reason why I strive to own sheep is that they multiply very quickly and feeding them is not a challenge here. This is because there is plenty of grass that can easily be accessed. This is a good investment that will help me generate more income. I intend to increase my flock so that I secure my financial ability to provide for the household. Most especially, in cases of medical emergencies or any sudden need for cash, the sheep can be sold to meet the need.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to lease a piece of land and plant a crop in the short rains season. I will be growing onions which is a marketable resource in my area. It only takes about three months to maturity which makes it one of the best options I have as investment besides my restaurant business.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is being able to save in my merry go round group. This is because saving about 1500 KES per month is a huge leap in my financial abilities. Initially, my savings was at most 500 KES but now I am able to save a substantial amount which is enough capital to engage in dairy farming. The savings will be handed to me in the next few days and expand my restaurant business with it. I intend to buy a dairy cow for milk production too. I am hopeful to be a proud mother of my two children because I will afford to meet their needs through the extra -income from the sales of the milk.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed in the next six months in that I shall purchase a cow using the savings that I will get this month from the merry go round group. This will be an additional occupation on top of sheep rearing and the restaurant business that I have expanded using the transfers to source for extra income. I will also be an active farmer from the leased parcels of land which I intend to plant onions and potatoes. This additional sources of occupations will make my life comfortable and very busy out of the economic activities I shall be engaging in.
