What did you spend your third transfer on?
It is my third transfer that enabled me to construct my home. When Give Directly visited me for the first time, I lived with my in-laws in the same compound hence I was never free. I was even afraid to approach Give Directly, since I could ask them to consent first, but that is not the same nowadays since I live in my compound freely.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on buying building materials such as 30 iron sheets , 60 timbers and nails since I am planning to build a three roomed house in my own homestead as at the moment I am staying in an old house and is almost collapsing. I bought a sofa set seats . I paid school fees arrears for my three children who are in primary school fees 1000 KES. I also bought 10 chicken for commercial poultry rearing.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am happy and hopeful of having my own homestead since I have already bought the necessary building materials that will necessitate the commencement of building a decent three roomed house that I have been longing for in a long time. I can say that I feel honored since have stopped to be a laughing stack in my village.Thanks to GiveDirectly for changing my living standards.

I spent my first transfer purchasing a bed @3000 Kes, a mattress @3500 Kes, 20 tins of maize @2000 Kes and spent the remaining amount on buying food.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the money, I was so happy because it came when we were lacking most of the basic necessities in the house.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship is fending for my children because sometimes we are forced to skip some meals or only take porridge or black tea because we cannot afford enough food for the family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is usually in the afternoon when I meet my friends.We make jokes about each other and share some new stories.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will build a new house and also invest a portion of it so that I can have some source of income.
