Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Before receiving this transfer, I didn't have hope of completing my house soon because my source of income couldn't generate enough money to acquire the needed materials at once. I would have taken over 10 years to finish construction since the money I got was spent on my children's education and food. I have acquire construction material( aggregate) that I intend to use to floor my house once I get my second transfer.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was over whelmed by joy the moment I learnt that GiveDirectly had sent me money. Getting this money really made me believe GiveDirectly's earlier promise of sending unconditional cash.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to purchase 2 trips of aggregate, bed sheets, clothes for the children and paid fees for my two school going children. I have not yet spent UGX 850,000 but I am planning to buy 3 trips of sand and clothes for my self.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means that I will be in position to complete my iron-roofed house. My house is so dusty and is causing alot of caugh to the family members. I will plaster and put cement on the floor of my house. This will prevent dusts and hence avoiding caugh from attacking my home people.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Iam so much engaged working the whole day ,moving left and right to find solutions for survival. The only relaxing and resting time is evening while planing for the next day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is poverty. I do not have enough land for farming and yet this is main incoming generating activity. Iam therefore unable to produce what is enough out of farming to cater for the family needs. The produce I get is mostly consumed hence can not cater for other basic needs like treatment, education and so on.
