My life is different than his it would have been had I not received the transfer because I have been able to build a spacious house that can accommodate us comfortably. In addition to this, I now have some seats that I did not have before. Due to this, anyone who visits can sit comfortably in my house unlike before.

In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by ensuring that all those who were enrolled received their transfer and I do not see anything that they did not do well.

When I received my second transfer, I spent some amount to pay school fees for my children. I settled on this since I did not want them to be sent back home. Also, I used some amount to finish building a house for my family. I had started building it using my first transfer but left it incomplete since I had ran short of money. My family was not left behind from enjoying this money since I bought everyone some clothes and food for us to celebrate. I still have some amount that I am intending to use in case of an emergency.

Before GiveDirectly came for enrollment, we had started planning to build a house. This is because the current house we're living in is supposed to be demolished before the end of this month. I had been deeply stressed with how we could manage to build another house with limited resources. My transfer came in handy as it enabled us to buy some timber that will enable us to build a house. I am now glad because I know that even though our current house will be demolished before we finish building another house, I will not seek refuge at my brother-in-law's house for long. Being able to buy this timber is the biggest milestone in my life and I thank GiveDirectly for the support.

I realized that I had two unread messages when I wanted to use my phone early in the morning. I became so happy after reading the messages as it indicated that GiveDirectly had already deposited some money into my account. I knew that I would be able to fulfill my life dreams using this money.

According to our traditions, when both parents die, the house has to be demolished after some time. Since I got married, we have been living in my late inlaw's parent house and the elders from our community had already informed us that we should vacate the house before the end of this year so that it would be demolished. When I received my first transfers, I bought some timber that I am planning to use in building a decent house for my family. Also, I decided to buy four three-seater seats and seat cushions. I settled on this since what we had been using belongs to my parent in law and they were old. I still have some amount that I am planning to use in commencing the construction work.
