How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before the coming of give directly in my town I was farming and not able to afford to build a house but thank God for give directly I was able to buy a plot of land of and start to build my house.

Give Directly did good by helping me with money to change my life.

After I received the transfer from GiveDirectly, I decided to saw some pieces of plank and to buy ten packs of nail to build my new house, then I thought on paying my two children school fees.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly can help with money, for them to send their children school and, build house and to also provide food for their family. GiveDirectly does not take water nor food from people.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was harvesting rice on my farm when I heard my phone rang. I immediately took the phone from my bag to see what it was. I realized that it was a message from Givedirectly. I was happy upon seeing a message of transfer from Givedirectly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving this transfer, I was doing farming job to help my family, but upon receiving this morning, things are much better than it use to be.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
It's obvious that we all in the entire villiage are eager to build. Building a house will allow me and my family to have a better home. We have for long time live in a grass thatched house and suffer so many things especially when the rain is falling.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
"I plan to build a new house which will provide me comfort to different lifestyle and a better learning environment for my children to acquire quality education for the future. The house I lived now belongs to my husband's mother, owning a houde will actually reduce my present life's challenges and difficulity."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"When my husband when on the gold field and my children and I was on hunger strike, but luckily he was able to send us a half bag of (25kg) rice for us, it actually made me happy and a day I won't forget in my life.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
"The challenges I am facing is we do not have enough food to eat because when we plant on the farmland it does not produce sufficient food to store. Due to this reason, we eat the little we earn from the farm".
