What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
The first installment we plan to buy a land that we are currently renting, we have started paying some small amount and this money will help us pay the land in full , the balance that we will pay for the land is $180 . And we also plan to renovate our house and clean on the inside , we will buy some furnitures, beds , matress , clothes and food to eat. The second installment we plan to buy a cow for $300 to give us fertiliser to use in our land and the balance we plan to save it and use it for our future. Receiving this money is push up to our development, and this is a life opportunity because it will help us have a brighter future and we will have a good standard of living and help others that are in the same situation as we are now.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My husband didn't have his ID and he recently have received a new one , he has failed many times to get a job because he didn't have an identity card and it made our lives a little harder because he wasn’t working but now we are thankful that he has received it and he will now be able to apply and be hired for Jobs. We have received solar panels recently and now we are able to listen to radio and we are updated with every news and now we are able to listen to an entrepreneurial radio shows called Kazi ni Kazi ( work is work) which is motivating us and giving us ideas of business to start on our own.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The first challenge we are facing is not having acces to capital to start a business , we wanted to start a business of raising livestocks and I once approached Sacco ( Saving and Credit Cooperative) to get a loan of $100 but we didn’t get a chance to receive it because they told us that they didn't have enough funds for every applicant and thus our project failed to be implemented. We don't have enough land to cultivate because we have to rent from others to be able to produce what to eat and we are not able to get money to buy inorganic fertiliser and we currently don't have enough livestocks to give us organic fertiliser and this affects our crop productions.
