How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before the program started, my goals were to buy land in the city and to also buy a motorcycle, through the help of the GiveDirectly program I was able to achieve those two goals. My new goal is to raise money from my charcoal business so that I can build a house in the city for my children's future.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well by being fair with the program, all that was said from the beginning of the program has come to pass and I'm so satisfied with the processes. I also love the kind of kindness and patience that was shown by the field officers during the program. The only thing I want to recommend to GiveDirectly is that, during the enrollment process, the field officers should be careful how to disqualify people before they disqualify the main people that should benefit from the program.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used my most recent transfer to buy a motorcycle so that I can make my move much easier. Going to my daughter was a serious challenge because of transportation issues but now that I have a motorcycle for myself, I have the ability and capacity to visit my daughter who is currently in Monrovia going to school at any time.

How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have new goals that I wish to achieve. I want to buy a land and build a house for my children's future. I also want my children to complete their education so that they can have better jobs in the future to help us. I will do my best to see these things coming to fulfilment.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, I love everything about GiveDirectly. GiveDirectly people can't lie about their program. Whatsoever they say is what they will do. They told us that they were going to send us $1,000 USD per household and they are sending it to us as promised. I really thought it was a lie because I haven't seen it since I started knowing myself in this town. I have not seen any bad thing about GiveDirectly yet; everything is okay with me.

I haven't used my second transfer yet because I want to pay for my daughter school fees with part of it in few days. The remaining amount will remain saved until I get the next transfer so I can use it to buy a land that I will build my dream house on.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I saw the money in my phone,, I was wondering if the money was really belongings to.me.
Because it's my first time for a group of people to just come, write your name down and after few days, you received money.

In some time past I was used to stream myself to find school fees, but this time, Give directly have empower us to help ourselves

What does receiving this money mean to you?
" I am the town chief of my town, My wife left me with the 3 children since December 2020. I am struggling with the children alone. If I am successful, I will use the money to buy a plot of land to build my house, that is if the money we are to receive can cover the expense."
What is the happiest part of your day?
"Many things have brought joy or happiness to me but there is one I can never forget. Some part of last month, I got a call from one of our political aspirant from my district. Her name is Hon. Annie. The call was to tell me that she has given me a motorcycle to help me run the town affairs. Even though it wasn't a new motorcycle, I appreciated it a lot."
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
" The main challenge I'm faced with is getting food to feed my family. Even as the town chief, I have to labor before I can get food to feed my family. Another challenge I am faced with is my children are currently out of school. I cannot afford to pay the tuition for all three of them at the same time."
