How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different from how it would have been because I now live in a good house and a presentable one. I also have a cow of my own.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
What I loved about Givedirectly is that they were fair and gave out equL mounts to everyone irrespective. I am also glad that I got help without any problem. Everything was well planned from start to the end.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used the transfer that I received to complete building my house. I also bought a cow for rearing and used the remaining to buy food for my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
Many things have changed in my daily life. I can cook enough food throughout the day for my children. They are now assured of enough meals because we used to have little to just help us get by. Now we have more than enough because of the transfer from GiveDirectly.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was so excited when I received the funds. I left the laundry I was doing at that time and ran to the house to recover from the shock and confirm the receipt was indeed true. My children were so excited because they knew it meant new clothes for them. They had seen their friends in neighboring villages who had new clothes from GiveDirectly funds and they knew it was their turn too.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I am currently building a second house using part of the first transfer that I received from GiveDirectly. I bought building materials -iron sheets, nails, wood frames and paid labor. I also bought clothes and food for us. We had been living in a leaking a thatched house. The first house is now done and we already live in it. I used to do casual work to get some funds to feed the family but rarely would we get enough. I used to even borrow clothes for my children from neighbors when we were going on a journey. I am so grateful for the transfer because it met our needs as a family.
