Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference ever since Give Directly came to my life is that I can easily feed my children because of the milk from the cows I bought. They are nowadays happy and full of love because they have enough food. I use most of the milk for my children's consumption which has greatly improved their health. I sell the remaining liters to of milk to get an income. This is the most improved moments of my life thus far.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt happy the moment I received the transfer. It was hard to believe that they had really sent me that amount. It is the largest amount of money I have ever received in my life. At first, I couldn't think appropriately for about two hours because of the excitement of receiving such an amount of money. I later calmed myself and started sober plans. I finally settled on buying two dairy cows. I thank Give Directly for making my day. The day still lingers in the head as if it was yesterday.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent part of my transfer on buying two heifers at a total cost of KES 50000. I also bought 3 sheep too. I decided to invest in livestock in order to gain money from the daily sale of milk. Apart from that, they also mature very fast and multiply within a short period of time. Their products are also on high demand and hence making it the most reliable way of investing money. I am now confident of facing any kind of emergency of e financial strains because I can easily get money from selling lambs or milk from my two heifers.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to purchase my own cow and also buy some chicken since I have always wanted to do so but lacked finances. We, (My husband and I), are in the process of building a chicken coop because we have planned to spend 10,500 shillings to buy 30 chicken which cost approximately 350 shillings each. The cow will cost us approximately 35,000 while the rest of the transfers will be used to buy food for my children.
What is the happiest part of your day?
On an average day, I do household chores in the morning from 6 to 9 am. Then I go to my neighbours farm to weed his maize for the rest of the day. In the evening, I get paid 100 shillings which I buy some maize flour for supper. I am happiest in the evening when we are taking supper with my children because it gives me a sense of fulfilment.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
On a daily basis, I rely on casual labor (weeding and digging just to name a few) in other people's farms so that I can provide food for my family. These jobs are hard to come by at times and therefore, I cannot provide food for my 3 kids. Food security is therefore my biggest worry at the moment.
