How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My goal is to complete the renovation of my house and keep my children in school. After I received the money from GiveDirectly, I use portion of it to renovate our house and portion was used to the children's school fees. I am so happy that what I needed most through the cash transfers from GiveDirectly I have now.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I think by coming to check whether the cash that was transferred reached the recipient and that the recipient was able to cash out his or her transfer is one of the important things I remember GiveDirectly for. In addition I also think by allowing me to decide what to do with the money given me is commendable on the part of the organization. Absolutely nothing wrong I have seen on the part of the organization.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I was able to pay a carpenter to replace the thatch roof with planks and zinc. It has been really difficult for me to pay my children's school fees but through this last transfer I was able to pay my children's school fees in full for the first time. Lastly I was able to buy some provisions for the house.
