I spent my third transfer on constructing a pit latrine for 6,000 KES because we were using the bush before we received the transfer as I had limited funds. I also spent 37,000 KES on plastering parts of my 2 room house that had remained when I ran out of second transfer funds. I invested the balance in growing maize which is the staple food here.

When I received my second transfer, I plastered my main house with sand and cement and fitted it with a steel door and windows. I am now living in a better house and one with a tight security.

The biggest difference in my daily life is the house I currently live in-it has a tight security, cemented walls and a nice look that everyone in the village admires. This is contrary to before when my security had deteriorated while living in a mud house with a door made of tin.

When I received my first transfer, the first thing that came into my mind was food-it was famine season, we neither had money nor food and therefore this was like a blessing to me-I spent on a sack of maize and other food items worth 6000 KES and paid school fees for my son in a secondary school with the remaining amount.

I felt very happy the moment I received my money. This is because it was a time when we neither had money nor food and therefore it would facilitate us well. Again, 10000 KES is not easy to come by so I considered it God's blessings.
