I spent my first transfer on buying a mattress at 4,000 KES and used the rest of the money on food.I bought a mattress because i used to sleep on a reed mat on a bare floor which is very uncomfortable and for the first time i wanted to have a peaceful sleep in a soft place,i used the remaining money to purchase a sack of maize and bought other food stuff because many a times my family had gone hungry or survived on one meal a day because we had no money so the transfers gave me the opportunity to feed my family well.
