My life is currently different in that through this money, I have a pair of oxen to aid me in my farming. I am assured of doing my farming early and timely for better harvests. I am expecting to get a good harvest because I will be cultivating my whole acreage and utilise it maximally. Now that I have been able to build a house for my children, they will no longer be troubled to seek shelter elsewhere at night.

In my opinion as a beneficiary, I think GiveDirectly does well in selecting and enrolling the needy households to enable them change their lives by giving out the money. I don't see anything that GiveDirectly does not do well.

I spent part of the second transfer to buy a mattress and a new bed to sleep on. I used to sleep on the floor since I lacked the money to buy new bedding. I now managed to replace them after many years. My children had also been seeking shelter elsewhere at night, thus I took KES 25000 to build a house for them. I was filled with happiness and joy for it was my first time to receive such an amount of money in my life. It was a fortune that I never anticipated in my life.
