How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is diferent now because through this money (first transfer), my husband was able to fully appropriate my parents by paying my bride price. Prior to getting this money, the only way we had to appreciate my parents was through farming to raise the money which to my parents was delaying. In addition to this, my life has currently changed as I was able to get a bull and farm land that I will put together with another community member to help me cultivate easily and extensively farm to increase food production respectively. Before getting this money, the issue farming was always a gamble since we had no less land to farm on.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly in my opinion has done well by giving me money that has enabled me to increase on my farm land, and constantly feed my family. In my opinion however, GiveDirectly has done nothing wrong.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 800000 to buy a bull. Together with my husband, I spent the balance of the transfer to hire farm land, pay debt and feeding my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
My daily life Is different in that, I'm nolonger stressed on how to plough. Previously, I only owned one ox making it so difficult during cultivation time. We used to plough in shifts with a person we put our bull togeher therefore it would take more time than if I having my own oxen. I also managed to buy household items like mattress, Bed sheets and clothes plus uniforms for my children using this transfer. Previously we wore rags and slept on a very old mattress and covered with torn bed sheets which is not the case anymore. So I'm so amazed with the wonderful support GD rendered to me.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The day I received this money, my phone was off because I had switched it off. Around 2 AM in the morning I heard people celebrating from the village. At this time I switched on my phone and I saw a message from GD Indicating I have received money. I was so happy because this money was going to uplift me from the bad conditions I lived in. I thanked God because it was by his will that I was able to benefit from GD.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I and my husband decided to spend our transfer on acquiring livestock. We previously had on one bull whereby we were faced with a challenge of ploughing during farming season. We bought one bull to add on the one we initially had such that we can farm easily and a cow that will reproduce and mutiply in future. When our cow produces we can get milk for both consumption and sale part for income that can support our family. The remaining money we spent it on buying household items I.e clothes, mattress, bed sheets and school uniform for the children.
