Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was a wonderful moment of my life. It was a moment where I felt being saved from hunger and starvation. I had much hope now that i will survive from now up to the period of harvesting in our fields.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference in my life is that i have food in my house. Food is life and I believe it is what i need most in my life. To receive this money at this time meant that i have enough food for a foreseeable period of time.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When i received this transfer i used it to buy iron sheets and 6 bags of cement. I had already built a house but it was a grass tchached house and with a floor of mud. When i get my next transfer i will deduct a certain amount to pay for labour. Part of the transfer i used it to buy 4 bags of maize as i had no food at the time.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will able to buy food and feed my family as I have been starving to the point of staying 2-3 days without food. This money will also help me to buy iron sheets for my house as it badly leaks since its grass thatched without any plastic papers to prevent the rains from wetting the ground floor.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happy any part of the day as long as I have food for my family.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I and my wife are very old and we are not Energetic to find food on our own as a result we depend on well wishers to share us some food and if they don not then we go to bed on empty stomachs.
