How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different from how it was four months ago because I can afford most of my family's basic needs. I was able to acquire building materials that I will soon use to build a new house. I am happy that I currently have more time with my family and engage in less casual jobs unlike before. I feel good because GiveDirectly has made me a happy father, I am able to provide for my family with ease.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
The new goal that I have for my life in the next four months is to build a new house. I currently live in a single house and I have had a goal to build a bigger and decent house but the scarce resource had never given me a chance. With GiveDirectly monthly transfers I have been able to accumulate building materials and I am planning to use my subsequent transfer to build a new house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I currently live in a small house with my young family. I have had a goal to build a more decent, spacious house that will accommodate my growing family. The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have been able to buy twenty pieces of iron sheets. I am a casual laborer working in a quarry. I could not have bought these iron sheets since my little wages has been majorly spent on our daily basic needs. I am glad that soon my family is soon going to have a decent, spacious house to call home that could not have been possible if it was for GiveDirectly.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will have built a new house. This will allow me to now focus on other development projects. I plan to divert my resource starting a business to improve my income hence gain stability to raise a good family and face any financial needs arising in my family.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different from how it was four months ago in that I now have goats and I have started poultry project. This project earns me an income from the sale of eggs at the center near home. Due to this, I am now able to cater for my family basic needs without much struggle unlike before when I used to overwork yet the money I would get was not even enough to cater for these needs.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new additional goal for the next four months is to save some money to build a better and spacious house for my family. The one we are living in now is small and cannot host us comfortably especially when we have visitors. Due to this, it is my priority now to build a bigger house for my family since I do not wish to find myself in a situation where I am forced to ask my neighbors to accommodate my visitors when I have them.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I now own three goats and I have started poultry keeping project which I did not have before. I do casual jobs in the quarry near home and the amount of money I get every day cannot sustain me well and remain with something to save. But when started to receive money from GiveDirectly, I used to save in a merry go round group and this saving culture has enabled me to own things that I did not imagine that it would be possible to own them soon. I am so much grateful for the support because it has changed my living standard and those of people around me.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I would have saved some money in a merry go round to enable me to buy a heifer which has always been my dream. When the heifer starts lactating and reproduces, I will be able to earn an income through the sale of milk. I will also be able to save the money I would otherwise use in buying milk and use it in times of financial crisis.
