What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on stocking food for my mother since she is old and vulnerable without the ability to work. I also constructed a pit latrine since the previous one was old with weak walls and I always feared that one of my children could easily fall in.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
We would have died of hunger due to the recent famine we were faced with had we not received the transfers. However with the transfers, I was able to stock food for my family and most importantly for my old mother.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
The fact that no one asks for a bribe to enroll a recipient into the program and also not asking for money at later stages when recipients have received transfers is a positive for GD.
