How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The greatest impact in my life is that I built a three roomed permanent house with the cash transfers. Previously, I was staying in a leaking thatched house which was in an absurd state. I also acquired household items such as mattresses, clothes and a bed. These are items that I had taken long to replace in the household. We are very grateful to GiveDirectly for making us proud and happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well to send the cash transfers directly to the poor without using other channels such as sub county administration. I do not see any wrong that Givedirectly has committed so far in our community.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second cash transfer to purchase an ox worth UGX 1200000. I spent the UGX 400000 to purchase two mattresses, a bed and clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is that, I live happily since I commenced the construction of a permanent house. Before, I stressed myself over how to construct a better house or even renovate the thatched house I live in. This all happened due to the lack of money.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the money, I felt very happy. For I knew this transfer was going to enable me construct an iron roofed house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I have spent my first to start the construction of a two bedroomed house. In order to do this, I bought bricks at Ugx 800000, iron sheets at Ugx 300000, cement at Ugx 90000, nails and ventilators at Ugx 120000. I also paid the builders Ugx 400000.
