How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different now in a way that I did not have a house anyone could call a house, it was just a temporary structure which could not stand in the coming rainy season. When GD came into this community and told me I will receive such an amount, I had no other thoughts than to build a house for my family. Today i can tell you that I have that house and it has iron sheets, something I could not do on my own and we are thankful.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly does well in giving poor people money as they did with me. I know there are many talks about the negatives of this money but to me, i would say this is the greatest project I have been involved in my entire life and its life changing.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I spent my second transfer on 5 bags of cement and 11 iron sheet to finalise the house I started building with the first transfer. I also bought iron nails and wires that are used when fixing the iron sheets.
