Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to build a bigger poultry house. Currently, I have a small poultry house and since the number of chicken is increasing at a good rate, there has been a need to build a bigger house. This will also allow me to continually expand my poultry project.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am a happy woman after finishing my house by fixing the ceiling board. I was able to save some of the monthly transfers and I was finally able to buy the ceiling boards. I am also able to buy feeds for my chicken using the transfer. Before, I only depended on proceeds from the sale of these products such as eggs, but this was barely enough to feed them. Out of all these, I am able to meet my daily needs such as food and other household items.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation in the near future is to improve my house by expanding it. Before my spouse passed on, he wished to expand the house to accommodate his children and visitors whenever they visited. and I wish to accomplish this. This need came because our current house is quite small and I want to avoid a scenario where I have to take my visitors to a neighbors house whenever they visit. I also wish to also improve my farming practice by planting maize and hopefully they will do well. I want to have enough food and even extra to sell and minimize the amount of money that I spent on food.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
My life is currently different because I own livestock that I recently bought using the money I had been saving in a merry go round group. When I received the money in March, I bought heifer that will soon be calving. I will start producing milk in about six months to come. I will be selling the milk and use it to meet my daily needs. The steady income will also enable me to buy farm inputs on time which will revolutionalize how I do my crop farming. In the end, receiving the transfers will have become a channel in which I begin to access financial strength that I never had before. I am hopeful that my life will now change forever. I will no longer live in poverty as it used to be four months ago without any meaningful source of income.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal is to build a store to use it for storing my farm produce and household items. I will do this using the money I get to buy roofing materials and wood. I will then use it to pay for construction labor and have my store completed. This will be a very convenient facility in my household for keeping household items and also farm products,
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily is the fact that I did not go hungry during the last drought season that came with famine. Without GIveDirectly, I would have had to sell some of my poultry to use it for food. This would have then reversed the gains I have made in the last few months in poultry keeping. In the end, I would have suffered from famine and lack of food. Having the transfers meant that my poultry would continue to increase in number because I didn't have to dispose of them. I had enough for food and also for poultry feeds. I am a healthy and happy poultry farmer.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to have changed because I will be having livestock. The heifer that I recently bought will have calved and this will add to my sources of income. I will be using the money I get from selling milk to meet my daily needs. Furthermore, I will be using the milk money to buy farm inputs in time which will add to my incomes as farming in time is profitable too.
