How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I do not have my own house. My husband and I are staying with one of my husband's relative. My husband and I was building a house for our family to stay. Unfortunately for me, he died without us completing the house project. I am not having anyone to help me. I am doing business but the business money is not enough for the completion of the house. I am so happy that GiveDirectly came into our town and I was placed on it's program to become a beneficiary. I am so much happy for this money from Givedirectly because I am now able to get more money for my business and for the completion of the house and for a better future of my children. I just want to say thank you to GiveDirectly for taking me and my family under our own roof.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
I am so happy and blessed to have such opportunity because I have never expected to see myself coming to the level of the completion and expanding of my business. In my opinion, I believe that GiveDirectly does pretty much well by reaching out to every deserving households in various communities in my town during the enrolment processes and making decisions on their eligibility. This makes me believe that the process is fair. With this understanding, I have therefore seen nothing that is not done well by GiveDirectly. Thanks to Givedirectly for this help to me and my family and my town dwellers.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
Due to poverty and the death of my husband, I have not been able to complete our house that he and I was building over this long period of time. I am so happy that GiveDirectly came into my village and for putting me on their program. When I receive my second transfer, I bought 10 bags of cement with portion of my transfer for the plastering of my house. I also bought two bags of rice for the feeding of the workers that will be working on the house for me. I am so grateful for this financial aid from Givedirectly because without GiveDirectly I wouldn't have been able to achieve my dreams for my future.
