What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on renovating and expanding my house. It was small(2 rooms) and with a leaky roof so I expanded it by adding on 2 more rooms. I also paid school fees for my children.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I had no way out of poverty since i could no work because of my old age however my life is now different in a way that I got huge sums of money without even working for it and I am no longer poor because I received transfers.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GD does well by giving us financial transfers and letting us decide how to use the transfers.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer to build a house since i was sleeping in a small house with 12 children which wasn't enough
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that i now have a spacious house which is enough for me and my family. I now have privacy

What did you spend your first transfer on?
Yes, bricks and sand! I utilized my first transfer to buy bricks and sand for expanding my house becauae my current is very small for a family of fourteen people. Therefore, I want to expand my house to two bedrooms from a one bedroom I am living in now.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
It was so good for me to get money. I felt empowered and uplifted because I did not expect it.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I am planning to spend my transfer on construction of new house. This is because this one is small to accomodate all of us.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The achievement I am proudest of is; I am able to cultivate enough and this helps not to buy food.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is the Tuberculosis which I developed in 2014. This almost killed me.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is morning hours. This is because I get time to cultivate and find what to eat.
