My goal in the next four months is to continue saving money in a merry go round group. I hope that I will be receiving the money in July and use it on buying a dairy cow.

The biggest difference in my daily life for the last four months because of sufficient food for my household during this period of COVID 19 pandemic. I would have had a really rough time now that my children are all at home due to the closure of all schools in the country. I use part of the money to buy foodstuffs that last us for about three weeks. I will then use my other means to sustain s for about a week and then I get the next transfer. I am not not worried about the current situation of restricted movements because I have the transfers.

I am hoping to have acquired a dairy cow so that I can provide milk for my family. This cow will also be a source of income from the sale of milk. My business in grains business will also be on track. I am hopeful that the COVID 19 problem will be over by that time so that we can move freely and do more in terms of marketing the grains and even farm produce including spring onions.

My new goal is to improve my poultry project by buying a chicken mesh for building and a more spacious chicken house. I also want to increase the number of the chicken I am rearing. This will be a good source of income for us and will help us meet the various basic needs at home.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been a consistent saver. I always wanted to save some money but since my expenses exceeded my income, there was nothing much to save. The transfers also helped me meet my school-going children's requirements. I am also happy that I now have a flock of chicken that I bought using the transfers. We used to depend on the sale of crops from our farm but for a while now they have not been doing well due to climate change. I am now hoping to live a better life because I have more than one source of income. I now feel more secure financially because I have several fallback plans.

My expectation in the near future is to buy and rear a dairy cow. This will help us avoid spending so much money buying the milk for our use as we are now. Having a cow will ensure my children have enough milk. The excess of it will be sold for an income. I also want to change our lifestyle for better by growing financially. I hope my business, with the help of these transfers, grow and ensure my children and the whole family lives a better life.

My additional goal is to purchase a dairy cow for rearing. This would be helpful to us in that it would provide us with milk for household use and sell the extra for an income if any. I currently do not have any cows.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that we are happy that we now live in a more decent house. Before, I used to stay in an old mud-walled grass thatched roof house. The roofed would leak during heavy downpour hence making our stay very uncomfortable and exposing my children to cold-related diseases. I am glad that this situation changed when started saving these transfers until I had enough to put up an iron-roofed house.

My expectation in the near future is to be living a more comfortable life by ensuring that my house is well renovated and well furnished. A home is supposed to be a place of rest where after a long day's work, one should rest in a comfortable place. I also hope that my dairy cow would have calved. This will help cut down on milk expenses and we can even sell the excess for an income. I hope that our lifestyle as a family would generally improve.

There is a really big difference not only in my life but for all the members of my family and other families within our village. Before, we used to live in a small hut, grass-thatched on the roof and characterized by some polythene patches on top to fill the leaking spaces. We thank God that we are now having an iron sheet-roofed house with no leaks at all and spacious enough to accommodate all the members of my family. We have also increased the land under cultivation which means a surplus supply of foodstuff for the household. We are now ambitious to purchase a heifer which is our next plan after harvesting the currently planted fields.

Our Merry-go-round group consists of twenty members whose contribution when we come together is 20000 KES. This to us had been a big sum of money which have enabled us to start and complete a lot of projects. After construction of a good spacious house which is our joy in our household, we still have an additional goal to purchase a cow since we have been buying milk for a long time. We have a plan to purchase a good breed of a cow which will be producing milk both for domestic and commercial use whenever we have a surplus.

Having been living in a small house with all our children, we had been praying so hard that we may find a way to construct a better one. When we received the first transfer from GiveDIrectly, establishing a better house was a priority. We were lucky that my husband together with me had enrolled in the program, something which made us join the same merry-go-round where we had been collecting money to an individual member in turns. My husband was the first one to receives his dues when his time came and in the following month, it was my turn. We used what he had received to purchase iron sheets and woods and part of it in replenishing the foodstuff in our household. We now have a well-furnished house which is the biggest difference in our daily life since our children are sleeping well in the initial house we had while my wife and I sleep in the new house.

In the next six months, I expect to have gotten enough money both from the products sold from my farms and also from the merry-go-round which we joined with my husband to purchase a good breed of cow. We are now focusing on this project as a priority after completion of the construction of the house which was a much pressing need for our household. Purchase of this cow to us will mean a lot as far as payment of my children's school fees in the future is a concern. We will be selling all the surplus milk and putting all the outcome in our savings plan towards school fees payment.

My life currently different from how it was four months ago because my dream of providing a good shelter for my family has been achieved. I am no longer looked down upon by my neighbors as I have saved myself the embarrassment of seeking accommodation from them.

My new goal is to save the monthly transfers for the coming four months and invest in poultry farming. This will boost the family income.

The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer is that I now I live in a better semi permanent house than the previous one. Previously, I used to live in a small, leaking and grass thatched house. My children were forced to seek accommodation from our neighbors which was very embarrassing. I have been saving the Givedirectly transfers and this has enabled me to buy building materials and later built a spacious house enough to accommodate me and my family. I am also able to provide enough food for my family using the monthly transfers since our farm has been very unproductive because of the harsh climatic conditions we had been experiencing since 2015.

I expect to own a cow in the next six months and build a better house. I expect my life to change in a good way as a result.

We are planning to start a table banking so that we can raise a good amount to help us pay school fees and build for each member. This idea came after receiving transfers from Give Directly.

Currently my living standards has been improve as my children have got good shoes and now am happy as I have less stress about getting money for buying food and other family needs.

In the next six months when receive the money which we pool together as village members I would spent to buy a cow. This is to help me feed my family as I have been buying milk for use for quite sometime and this cost me lots of cash.

The biggest difference is to see my children having good shoes, I am happy now when they wear the shoes and look nice in it. My children are happy too as they had kept asking for the shoes for long.
