What did you spend your third transfer on?
I spent my third transfer on smearing my house and now its nicely aligned 20,000 KES. I hired a farm piece of land 15,000 KES to pursue my commercial rice plantation project and now the land is being cultivated with 5000 KES. I also bought rice seeds with the remaining amount.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never have received the transfer in that I am happly living in a decent three -roomed house in my own homestead hence I no longer stay in a rental house as I used to before the transfer which had various challenges such as arguing with my landlord due to late payments and paying monthly rent was expensive because of several responsibilities had at hand.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by embracing community entry as this was key to promote community involvement into the program hence this was productive as it could do continuous awareness on the transfer related projects in Barazas. On the other hand I would request GiveDirectly to consider those who were non-participants a second chance to the transfer related projects because they have a changed set of mind and they are interested in participating.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer on paying 20,000 KES school fee for my two children in secondary school, hired and tilled land at 10,000 KES, I then used the rest of the cash to repair the walls of my house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I no longer hustle too much on other people's farms to get school fee and other basic requirements for my children. I also managed to till my own land, something that had never happened in the past

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent most of my first transfer to hire a plot for farming to increase food production for my family. I also paid a debt which has been giving me sleepless nights.

What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I plan to spend this transfer to pay school fees for my nephew who is orphaned and is joining secondary school next year.
I will also use part of the remaining money to open a hotel business for my wife.It can help us fend for our needs without so much challenge.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
The proudest achievement have ever done is buying two sheep that I keep here at home.
I managed to buy them with the money I got from the casual labour I do at rice farms.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have is lack of proper source of income to enable us fend for our needs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest time of my day is in the evening after I'm done with my day's work because I can now have some rest.
