Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
In the next four months, I have dedicated all my resources and energy towards improving my general shop business. I am prioritizing this because I know that once I make more profits in this business then I will be able to improve the livelihood of my family and make further investments even going forward. I am looking forward to improving this business and bringing about change in my family.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is in the timely farming that I have been able to practice since I received money from GiveDirectly. I used to hire oxen from neighbors to enable me till my land which often delayed my farming hence affecting the farm produce. Once I received money from GiveDirectly, I used part of it to buy oxen and we worked hand in hand with a neighbor who had one to till our farms. This has seen us plant our farms in time and increased crop production as well. With this I have also been able to buy the basic household needs with a lot of ease after improving our small business in a nearby town. Many thanks to GiveDirectly for the transfers that really changed our lives.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
In the next six months I expect a general rise in the living standards of my family. I currently have cows that are due and once they reproduce, I am sure we shall have plenty of milk at our disposal. The milk produced shall not only be a source of protein and a balanced diet for my family but the surplus shall also be sold to earn the family more income that will be used to meet other special expenditures like payment of school fees. We also expect to have increased farm produce especially after the long rains that has seen us plant crops which we are optimistic to harvest soon.
