Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the message, I was at a trading centre buying groundnuts for my business. I cannot read and so had no idea what the message was saying. When I returned home, I went to my helper to go and have them read the message to me. I was so happy to hear that my transfer had come in. I wanted to call Give Directly immediately to thank them. I was very grateful for the transfer.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
Before receiving the transfer, we used to eat food only twice a day in our household. But nowadays, we eat three times a day. This has made a very big difference to my productivity and energy levels. I now work even harder on my business in order to make more money.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have bought, food, fertilizer, iron sheets, blankets and mattress. I have also started a groundnut business
