How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received GiveDirectly's transfer in that I have achieved my dream house which I have always yearned for years. I managed to construct a semi-permanent one with the transfer. Its an honor to stay in a clean environment and my children are healthy since I have prevented most of the diseases related to dust which they would get predisposed to before. Thanks to GiveDirectly for promoting my household hygiene.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion , GiveDirectly did well by fulfilling it promise which ment a lot as it demystified the propaganda which were being spread in the community that GiveDirectly would lie to us like other organisations have always done . There is nothing is did not do well .
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent 30,000 KES of my second transfer to complete constructing my new decent house which I started its construction with my first transfer . I am very happy that I stay in a clean environment unlike before where I had a mud shelter. I bought decent seats and table . I also bought food with the remaining amount .

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my life is now we are living in a better house which is much comfortable than which we had before. Previously we were living in a house with leaking roof. During rainy season we had hard times spending in the same house at night as the whole house would be wet due to leaking roof.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I got the money from GD, I was so happy and believe that what I was told was real. From that moment I trusted that my plans would come true as I have been yearning to built better house but had no resources at all. The house we were living in was having a leaking roof.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
Before I had a grass thatched house, When I got the money from GD, I pull down that house and built a new one which is made of iron sheets with a concrete floor. I spent all the money I got as my first payment to buy the building materials.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I've ever faced in life is that I couldn't raise school fee therefore I had to drop out of school in form two. It was a difficult time for me because I had big dreams which died immediately I dropped out to start doing casual jobs.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is at noon while having lunch after working in the farm the whole morning because I usually feel re-energized after the meal.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means so much to me. It is like God answered my prayers because I will be able to change my leaking grass thatched roof to an iron roof and I will also use the remaining buy a goat and a cow.
