I experienced changes in my life because, for one I was able to pay full school fees for my son for that term, something that I would have never been able to accomplish was it not for the cash transfers from the organization. Secondly, I now have a cow which I have been milking for the last two or so months so I no longer buy milk from vendors as I used to do in the past.

I believe that the organization transformed peoples lives in the village, myself included. I would not have managed to pay the school fees for the kids because of my low financial ability but due to the generosity of the organization, my son went to school and attended all his classes for that term without being sent back home. Apart from my case, there are other people who built decent houses using the trsnsfers, which probably they would have never done in the entire lifetime.

I used the last transfers to do some school shopping for my son who was reporting for his first term in high school at that time. I had to part with approximately Kes 20000 for him to be admitted in school. Apart from that, I also bought a cow at a cost of around Kes 20000. I also managed to offset a loan I had accrued in the past that was roughly Kes 15000. What remained after the expenditures went into the purchase of food for the family and other miscellaneous expenses.

The biggest difference I have in my life since I received this transfer from Give Directly is that I have money to take my son to secondary school next year. This has been my biggest worry because I was very sure my son will do well in his examinations. He has been performing well and I was sure he will pass his final examinations. I had promised to take him to a school of his choice. Time was running fast and casual work alone could not provide the amount of money needed to take him to school. It was in the evening when I was storying with my neighbours when I heard the phone beep.
