How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I have peace of mind since I no longer frequent the hospital due to stress. Before, I was overwhelmed with financial problems despite the efforts I had put in place to resolve them. For instance, my business was on the verge of collapsing. Therefore, it was hard to cater to my family's basic needs. I am thankful for GiveDirectly's support which has greatly made a positive impact on my entire family as I am able to direct these transfers where there is an occurrence of financial loopholes.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have no new goal for the next four months because I wish to complete the dream of constructing my new house once and for all. So that I can focus my income on bettering the life of my family
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
Previously, my business wasn't making much and it was on the verge of collapsing. Therefore, it was hard to cater to my family's basic needs and save as well for the construction of a new house. We have been staying in a squeezed old shanty with cracked walls since that's where we can afford. Since I started receiving these transfers, I have used part of it to buy building materials such as iron sheets which I intend to use in building my own house. The biggest difference in my daily life is that I am hopeful that the construction of my new house will be a stepping stone to comfort and happiness. Then focus my income on other things like my children's education to better the life of my family.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I shall have bought the required building materials which will facilitate the construction of my new house. When this dream would have actualized I will be profoundly happy.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, my life is different in that I have managed to buy building materials such as 10 pieces of iron sheets and when I shall have bought the required number, I intend to build a new house for my family. Eventually, I want to move away from the small house that can barely accommodate all of us, especially at night. I had always wanted to have such a house but then due to limited finances, it has always remained to be a far-fetched dream that could have never been realized was it not for the unconditional cash transfers from Give Directly.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
My new goal in the next four is to save part of the transfer in our merry go round that we had formed since we started receiving this money. With the savings, I am planning to buy a sheep and expand my herd of livestock. I believe having these herds is a guaranteed asset in the future because it values appreciates on a daily basis.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life in the last four months is that I have bought two goats and now one amongst them has already reproduced. I am hopeful that when this herd will have increased in number, I can sell some of them to make an extra source of income and cater for any emergency that might crop up when I am not financially strong to handle them. I know I will not beg nor borrow anymore.
