How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is currently different in that we now have a more reliable source of livelihood for the family than we would be having had we not received money from GiveDirectly. The motorcycle that we bought with our second transfer has just changed our lives altogether. Not only has it rendered my husband to be self employed but has also empowered us to earn extra money each day contrary to the days when my husband was riding someone else's motorcycle which earned us very little income to say the least. On top of this is the ready supply of milk that we have had for the family after we bought a cow from our first transfer. This transfer has simply changed our lives as a family and I personally feel so much indebted to GiveDirecthy for this.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did so well in giving us money unconditionally. This empowered us a lot especially by giving us the freedom to choose the things to do with the money received from them. Through this, we have since been empowered by starting up projects that was so helpful to us and which have changed our lives for good. On the other hand I feel that GiveDirectly should do more followups on recipients after they have received their money and encourage them to invest the money so that they do not go back to their initial financial situations. They should as well have given us phones that are dual sim so that we could have our initial lines as well as account numbers active.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used all of my second transfer together with savings made by my husband to buy a motorcycle. My husband and I had been eagerly waiting for this transfer so as to be able to buy our own motorcycle and make reasonable income that would be used to feed the family. My husband was riding someone else's motorcycle which earned him very little income that was hardly enough to put food on the table for the family. We were thinking about buying a new motorcycle but the little income that we got from his sRidden by husband and makes quite some income. Had ealier sold a bodaboda but the business started backfired.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is the cow that I bought. I feel happy since I know that very soon will be producing more milk from my farm for both consuption and sales.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
My transfer came in the morning when I was asleep. When I saw the text I felt so happy and sleepless, I started calling my villagers to share the good news.

I spent KSH28000 on buying a cow, KSH 5000 on farming, KSH 10000 on my family food, KSH5000 on clothing and KSH6700 utensils and daily household expenditure.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
My heart has been longing to have some money that will assist us to buy a land. We have been having this desire of buying the land because we have a plan of starting dairy farming

My happiest part of the day is in the morning because God has enable me to wake up healthy and also have energy to start my normal work.
