How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life has changed in that, I am happy because I built a permanent house, acquired bedding and above all, I bought a cow as a saving. Before, I used to sleep in a grass thatched house that was expensive to maintain.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well through guiding recipients like me on best practices for protecting our money. I do not find any gaps in GiveDirectly operations.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent UGX 1632000 for buying bedding, a cow to act as a saving for my household. I hired an acre of land for crop cultivation. I can not recall exactly how much I spent for each item.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have managed to construct a decent iron roofed house, the struggle to look for thatch is over.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received the transfer, I felt so happy and relieved. I started imagining an Iron roofed house in my compoud, snakes used to attack me in the bush whenever I went to look for grass thatch.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer for constructing an Iron roofed house, I choose to construct, because now days it's hard to get grass thatch. I still have the balance of UGX 500,000 which I intend to use for buying house hold items like a bed, mattress, bedsheets and kitchen utensils.
