How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different because my family has food and we are actually eating 3 meals a day, something that as a household I have never managed to do. This has has given me peace of mind and happiness.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly does not do anything the wrong way. It does well by enrolling in its program people that are really needy and vulnerable. The other thing that GiveDirectly does so well is actually giving out cash to people for them to make their own choices on how to spend it.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
When i received this transfer from GiveDirectly managed to buy 10 bags of maize for consumption. A lion's share of the cash has been saved so that i buy cement and pay the builder who is going to construct my house.

Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was very excited and joyful as I knew some of my problems will be out to an end. Now am grateful to be part of this program by Give Directly.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My biggest difference has been how I used to travel back them and now. I used to walk long distances and now with my bicycle I can go to any area I like.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I have always desired to live in a good roofed house as well as to be able to travel within and outside my area with ease. This is so as in our area there are no public transport available. Hence, I resorted to buying iron sheets and a bicycle to solve these problems. The other money went towards buying several bags of maize to be food secure for these months towards harvest season.
