How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Had it not for money, I would not have bought a cow which is currently providing milk for my family. Sometimes I also sell milk for income. My children are now happy, their health improved and I nolonger face stress which usually comes out of lack of money.
I also have a good house which replaced the old grass thatched one that I previously owned. This is a very comfortable one compared to the previous one.
I also feel happy now that I have a solar system in my home. The house is nowadays lit, just same as to my neighbors.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Honestly speaking, Givedirectly does good by offering financial support to poor people to help them rise beyond their means in terms of unconditional cash transfers. There is really nothing that GD does wrong!
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the entire second transfers in buying a cow and also bought seats for my new house which was recently completed. Buying a cow has been my goal which was made possible by the cash transfers.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am very excited on this great news of being among those who will be receiving these cash transfers. Now, I will be able to practice both dairy and poultry farming. God bless GD.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when am back from the day's hustle and carrying with me foodstuffs for my family to take for supper.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Scarcity of food brought about by drought, pests and diseases rendered me unable to fend food for my family in the past few years ago. Everything I tried to cultivate on my farm was affected resulting in zero production. I relied mostly on donations from well wishers to sustain my family. This period for me was the biggest hardship I have ever experienced.
