How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Before receiving transfers from Give Directly, we used to live in a grass thatched house. It sometimes leaked during rainy season and was not nice. My husband and I would struggle to do piece work just to make ends meet. I really wanted my children to get educated. Since receiving the transfers, we have renovated our house. And have decided to invest in a grocery store. The income will be used for food for our household and school fees for our children.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly does not do anything wrong. It has changed our lives. We used to struggle to make a living while dreaming of living in a better house. We always dreamt of having a business to give us an income we could rely on. Give Directly has helped achieve those dreams.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With the second transfer, I plan to open a grocery store. I will be selling basic house groceries like soap, cooking oil and others. I want to open this store to sell and make more money for school fees for my children.

I'm always the happiest in the morning, this is the time i thank GOD for my life and seeing another day.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship i currently have is having a proper source of income,i relay on farming and it is very hard for us to raise money for farm inputs so i really wish to own a small business so that i should be able to earn something on a daily basis.
