How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
Currently I am a happy person because I was able to bring a wife home and partially pay her bride price (as it is with my culture). She will help with a lot of work like cooking, gardening and give my life meaning. Before getting this transfer, I could not marry because I did not want the parents to my wife to keep demanding for their daughter's bride price. Having cattle has as well changed my life in that they keep me busy unlike before when I had nothing much to do but only move with peers and sometimes end up in trouble.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion GiveDirectly has done well by bringing joy in my life because through the money that they have gave me I was able to get a wife. GiveDirectly on the other hand has done nothing bad.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent my second transfer Ugx 950000 to buy three heads of cattle. I then gave Ugx 400000 to my in laws as part of the bride price (as it is in my culture). I spent the remaining money to cater for some household needs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is a feeling of ownership and independence. This is because I was able to get a personal bicycle that will aid me in terms of transport. I will no longer have to ask for help when I need to go anywhere as I will just ride my bicycle.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my money, I felt extremely happy that I had got money that would help me acquire my personal effects.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy some household items such as bedding, bicycle, curtains at Ugx 420000. I then bought three pigs at Ugx 150000. I hired two pieces farm land at Ugx 200000. I am therefore saving up the balance of my transfer to cater my other future plans and uncertainties.
