Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
Now that I finished building my house, my new goal is to buy some seats for the house. I currently use some plastic chairs.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now live in a semi permanent house that I built using the transfers. I was able to save some part of the monthly transfers and put up the house. I initially lived in a mud-walled grass thatched house but with the kind of maintainance it needs, I couldnt manage it anymore. I still use the hut though as a kitchen but I will soon do away with it. I m also happy that I am able to chip in and pay some of my granddaughter's school fees.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
My expectation is to ensure that my grandchildren continues with their education. Its not only their parents responsibility to do this but I also have a play in it. A bright future for my grandchildren also means a bright future for me too. I also want to live a comfortable life even in my old age by ensuring that I have a stable source of income to help me meet my basic necessities such as food.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
When we started receiving the transfer from Givedirectly in our village, a few of us from thevdecided to start a merry go round group where we started saving some part of the monthly transfer and lumping it to one member every month. When my turn to receive the lumped savings came, I immediately bought a dsiry cow for rearing. Cows do well in our location and they are one main source of income by selling milk to local consumers. I am happy that I now have one additional asset and an investment that will take good care of me in my old age.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I am currently planning to put up a semi parmanent house. I stay in a mud walled house and though its warm and nice, It involves a lot of work to smear every other time and I am getting old and loosing energy to do all these. I will be able to stay in a nice house.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have enough food for myself and the children that I stay with. Despite the fact that we sell some farm produce, the proceeds may sometimes be irregular and sometimes we go without money to buy food. The transfer from Givedirectly supplements what the farm gives us and I now feel strong because I eat enough food.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Now that I am aging , I want to reduce the amount of work I am doing by ensuring that I have enough money to pay someone to help me do the farm chores. I expect to stay healthy and have enough and healthy food and to live in a good house.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have ever faced in life is when I lost my husband, providing to the family was not easy and also making my children understand about the whereabouts of their father was not easy.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the morning, this is because I have woken up feeling healthy. Also, seeing my children and grandchildren healthy and happy makes me feel good since its not by our will that we see a new day. We take breakfast together as the grandchildren prepare for school, I'm then Left to do my daily house chores.
What are you planning to spend your transfer on?
I'm planning to spend my first transfers in expanding my poultry business since I have passion in keeping poultry and also its a good source of income. I will also use the other transfers in constructing a house to my grandchildren since I live with them and the house we are living in is quite small.
What is the achievement you are proudest of?
Since my husband left us, it has been a big challenge to me and the kids, since bringing up the children alone as a widower is tough. I have always worked hard to ensure all their needs are fulfilled especially education, food and clothing's. Seeing my children grown to be what they are at the moment makes me feel proud of myself.
