Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy and grateful..The money meant a lot to me and my household as it was a good way of having different good stuff at one time..For example my house was completed within a few months.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
My biggest difference is that my house will now be completed and I will be moping the floor as compared to the past. The other thing is that I now have better beddings and clothes and they are enough for everyone in the house..I also have a few bags of maize which can take me to the end of the year
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I used the cash transfer to purchase 10 bags of cement which will be used for plastering and cementing my floor as the house was not completed.. I have also bought a huge mattress since I did not have a better sleeping place..I then purchased 9 bags of maize since just to add on the few bags that I had. Lastly, I also bought a few clothes for my kids and saved some of the money to be used for buying small things such as salt and paying at a maize mill.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I intend to use this money for buying a mattress as I sleep on a mat. I also intend to buy some fertilizers for the next growing season so that I harvest enough maize for food as well as for sale next year.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I like to listen to the radio with my relatives later in the evening
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
For me to find enough money to buy fertilizers is a very difficult thing since I am not working and do not have a stable source of earning money. This in turn affects my maize production
