How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than if I had not received this cash tranfer in that, I have acquired items that I had lacked hence I have gained self esteem.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Give Directly has done well by offering unconditional cash transfers to the poor households. I do not see what they have not done well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
When my first cash transfer worth 1,633,000ugx, I used it for paying a debt of 740,000ugx which I had borrowed to facilitate my son's marriage ceremony, I bought a bicycle worth 205,000ugx to help in transport, I bought a mattress of 130,000ugx, I paid tuition of 473,000ugx. The balance of 85,000ugx, I used for buying clothes.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that l'm now having utensils which I did not have before.

The moment I received the money, I became very happy and thanked God.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my transfer to buy mattress at ugx130,000,utensils 60,000ugx and the balance i plan to use to pay school fees for my 4 children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to retrieve the piece of land that was leased, pay school fees for my children and if there is any balance, build an iron roofed house.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am seated with my children.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to cater for the scholastic needs of my children.
