What did you spend your third transfer on?
It was approaching planting season so, I ploughed my farm and grew some groundnuts. They have since been harvested. Some part of the money I spent on paying school fees for my child in secondary school and a few household items I lacked.

What did you spend your second transfer on?
I received the money when my father had passed away,so I spent part of the transfer to take care of her funeral expenses. I also spent part of the transfer to pay school fees for my children in secondary school. Using the remaining amount, I spent on buying food and clothing for my children.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to pay school fees for my children. They are not the laughing stalk of the community as they have been able to go to school like the other children. I am so happy and grateful to GiveDirectly.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer on paying 7,000 KES school fee fro my child in high school, bought half a sack of maize at 1,800 KES then used the rest on food for the house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy when I received the transfer in that I had never received such a huge amount of money in my life.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship as at now is feeding and paying school fees for my children. Charcoal burning alone can not sustain me in all these.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the afternoon when i get time to rest after early mornings of trying to make ends meet i.e charcoal burning and working on other peoples farms for pay
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money has brought me happiness. I am into charcoal burning which is a tedious job but I have to do it in order to feed my family. I have always wished to start up my own small business to boost my income and with this money , I'm sure of starting up a small business.
