How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The greatest achievement is that the cash transfers enabled me to process a land title. I will be able to secure my ten acres of land. Previously, I was worried of losing the land due to the absence of a genuine land title. I am happy that I have been relieved from the worries.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to send the poor people direct cash transfers to spend according to their priorities. On the other hand, I am not happy with the fact that some vulnerable people were not enrolled into the program. More so, the GiveDirectly staff need to be more professional while conducting their infield investigations. The organization needs to revise their enrollment criteria to suit the recipient needs.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The significant difference in my daily life is that I am relieved that the cash transfers have enabled me access medical treatment to correct my vision. I did not have money to correct my vision. In addition to this, I am very delighted that very soon I will obtain a land title for my plot.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I received the message early in the morning and I felt very happy. This was money that I had not worked for and it was a miracle. I was very happy and I felt like personally appreciating the GiveDirectly team for this opportunity.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent UGX 300000 for medical treatment and the balance of the transfer I plan to spend it on processing a land title.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I have my land that I partly practice agriculture on it and also rent out other parts but I think my land is not safe because it is not surveyed. When I receive this money, I will use it to seek services of a land surveyor so that I safeguard my land.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is always in the evening because it is the only time I have to relax and go meet my friends for a chat or socializing.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of sufficient finances to make my life comfortable. In this I would also wish to own a car or a motorcycle but financial constraints have limited my access to acquire them.
