What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used part of my second transfer on paying my dowry. Since we were facing financial challenges my spouse couldn't afford to pay dowry so when we received the money we decided to give it a priority. I had a loan with Mkopa solar which I settled with part of the money, then I took a television set on loan again so that I'm able to get updated on current occurrences in the world.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well in giving people cash and letting them decide on what to spend it on. This has enabled people to meet various needs hence they improved their living standards. On the other hand, I feel Gd should continue giving us more money so that we are able to complete our projects.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that I now believe and I have courage that I'm a full wife to my spouse because my marriage has been formalized by paying my dowry.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship has been farming for three consecutive seasons with poor harvest as a result. I'm a peasant farmer and getting low harvest that cannot sustain family consumption, will means straining to bring food in the table. With the high inflation experienced in my country, it's a very challenging experience.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is night, since this is when all family members assemble around the table taking dinner together, it create that family bond, and to me it's a great pleasure.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money is a very big boost to me economically, I'm a peasant farmer, but I'm not able to enlarge my farming activities because of lack farm machinery. I'm sure of buying oxen and plough so as to do farming in medium scale for more production. I also built a mud walled house but this has made me to be a village laughingstock due to it's poor condition, but now i believe that i will be capable of cementing the house and furnished it with comfortable chairs.
