How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
No, my previous planned still stands. That is, after paying my children school fees using part of my money. Then, I will buy zincs and building materials to build my own house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
All of the things that GiveDirectly has done for me are very important and good. My son graduation fees and my children's school fees would not have been paid if I had not received this money. I was really stranded and never had any means of raising money for his graduation.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
I paid my children's school fees including the elderly one graduation fees with some of my transfer. I bought two bundles of zinc for my new house and I bought matress and other household items for my room.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I plan to use half of the cash transfer to pay school fees for my two school-going children and use the remaining half to improve my small businesses which profit I can use to support my family.
What is the happiest part of your day?
What brought happiness and joy to me over the past 6 months is when my daughter called me back in July that she's going to send money to help support the family. Such news brought so much relief to my mind and I am so much optimistic about it. I also feel that this will mitigate the challenges I am facing.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The challenges I am currently faced with are the lack of sufficient finance to sustain the household, coupled with the fact that my spouse current health condition cannot permit him to buttress my efforts for the substance of the family. This has brought so much workload, bodily pain and mental tension on grounds that I am singlehandedly supporting the household.
