How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
I have been so much happier since I received the transfers from GD. I am able to better my life. I was really poor, unable to afford most basics. I am now in a better position to afford to live a better life. I did not have a nice place to sleep but I bought a mattress where I now sleep. I have built a house and now can proudly say it is almost finished. I was also unable to afford other small everyday things like food, school fees and clothes. I can now afford all these and my children look better.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
Give Directly has managed to help alot of households in my village. Most of us used to live in mud houses. Most of these houses were not nice. Most people wanted better houses. Give Directly has provided us with the opportunity to get better houses. We have been able to build better houses and also been lifted out of poverty. We only see good things where Give Directly is concerned. The organization is a very big help in our community.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
With this transfer I have decided to continue improving my house. I have bought iron sheets and glass for my house windows for this. I have also bought fertilizer, food and clothes for my household.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
This money means a lot to me and my children. As you can see the house is in bad shape,I shall build a good house and buy new items such as beddings, mattress, pots, buckets among others.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy when I get up in the morning to attend to my crops in the garden. Now that it's harvesting time, I know my children are not going to be worried about what to eat.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I do face is lack of good beddings and mattres. The life in the village is always hard and after a long day it's always good to rest on a comfortable bed not on a mat with poor beddings.
