How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My entire life, I had never hoped that I would ever ever construct a permanent house. However,I am very happy that these cash transfers have enabled us construct a house which is at ring beam level. Life is much better in that I also acquired a large fertile plot of farm land which will boost the family food supply.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well to fulfill their promise of sending us the cash transfers without requesting for payment of any kind.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the second cash transfer to hire a piece of farm land worth UGX 600000. I bought iron sheets worth UGX 500000 and ring beam rods worth UGX 250000 and cement worth UGX 43000. I bought clothes and a mattress worth UGX 200000. I also repaired a motorcycle.
