Initially, I lived in a grass-thatched house that looked pathetic-it was very old and leaky but when I received my second transfer, I bought 26 iron sheets and constructed a semi-permanent house where we currently live more comfortably-we are no longer rained on. The construction of the house consumed most part of the money and spent the rest on a bicycle that I can now use to ferry water over long distance during dry seasons.

In my opinion, what Give Directly does well is that it does not discriminate anyone during census in areas they work. However, it would also consider bankrolling community groups to enable them execute community related developments.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that we currently live in a warmer house since the new house is not leaky. Again, my house can never run out of domestic water any more since I have a bicycle that enables me to fetch more water over longer distances within the shortest time possible.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my first transfer to buy two sacks of maize for consumption since I did not maize in the house, I bought clothes for myself and my child since we had less clothes. The remaining amount, I spent on daily house expenditure.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
When I received the money, I was very happy because I was struggling to buy grains to mill for my family and also I was now going to be able to buy new clothes for my family to look in order for them to be decent like other families.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that, I no longer work on other people's farms to earn a little income to buy food for my family like it has always been but I now work on my farm since I have sufficient food after buying the two sacks of maize.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
Making ends meet is my biggest hardship in life.My family at times sleep on a empty stomach because we dont have money to buy food.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is in the evening when taking supper with my husband.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money meabs change in my life.l feel a relief.My family is living in poverty.We can not even afford a good house and sleep on the floor.
