What does receiving this money mean to you?
My spouse, who is physically challenged and I borrowed $70,0000 (seventy thousands Liberian dollars) from a community financial saving in early May ,2018 with an interest rate of 20% to build this house and pay school fees for our son who is attending the Zwedru Multilateral high school in Grand Gedeh county. . I have, on several occasions been threatened to be put out or invaded of my house including my family because we haven't completed the payment which deliquent interest payment has been added. I have also had a plan to cement the wall and floor of my house to no avail due to limited resources. As I am opportune to receive the unconditional cash transfer from GiveDirectly, I will use any percent of the amount received to pay back the money owed and use the balance amount to cement my house as well as continue with my son school fees payment at the Zwedru Multilateral high .
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the morning hours of every day I am happy because these are the hours all my children can be available to greet me before leaving for the farm or any other area .
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The continual threats from the board of the community financial saving where I borrowed cash from in May ,2018 because my spouse and I being unable to payback in full the amount borrowed is my main challenge faced with as of present. The fact that every little cash generated from the sale of palm nuts goes to our dept payment, my son school has discontinued and he is presently working on farm with us contrary to my previous plan to support him with his education. These are my challenges faced with at the moment.
